Formal Bits

Prior to any agreed activities we will conduct an initial visit so that we can meet your dog, discuss any specific requirements and talk through terms and conditions. This will allow me to tailor activities to the individual and ensure that both parties are happy with all arrangements.

All clients will be deemed to have accepted the Pip’s Pals Terms and Conditions as laid out hereafter upon signature of the said Terms and Conditions.

  1. The Client is solely responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by their dog while it is under the care of Pip’s Pals, or is using any other services provided by Pip’s Pals, and agrees to indemnify Pip’s Pals in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.

  2. The Client agrees that, in admitting their dog, Pip’s Pals has relied on the Client’s representation that their dog is in good health and has not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behaviour toward any person or any other dog.

  3. All dogs will be subject to an initial assessment by Pip’s Pals staff prior to using Pip’s Pals services. Pip’s Pals reserves the right to refuse admission to any dog deemed in their absolute discretion to be, or have the potential to be, dangerous or disruptive. All dogs being walked will undergo a trial period to ensure that they are adequately trained and socialised.

  4. The Client agrees to notify Pip’s Pals immediately of any unwelcome, aggressive, procreative, or dangerous behaviour of their dog that has potential to cause harm to any other dog or individual.

  5. Pip’s Pals reserve the right to cancel the contract at any time and with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker and/or other dogs.

  6. The walker will apply personal judgement and cut short a walk if necessary due to extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, thunder storms etc) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.

  7. Dogs must also have a suitable collar or harness and wear ID tags with owner’s details and be microchipped.

  8. Pip’s Pals offer services where dogs co-mingle in groups and the Client accepts that during the course of normal dog play their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury, but scratches, punctures, torn ligaments, or other injuries may occur despite the best supervision.

  9. Pip’s Pals will only let dogs off the lead once an ‘off the lead consent form’ has been signed, and will remain at the discretion of Pip’s Pals staff.

  10. On wet muddy days Pip’s Pals will do they their best to ensure your pet is as towel dried  and as clean as possible after a walk, but it is the Clients responsibility to provide a suitable area for the dog the be settled in back at home so not to cause damage to carpets/furnishings.

  11. The client must provide Pip’s Pals with details of their registered veterinary surgery and contact details of someone capable of making a responsible decision relating to the pet in cases of emergency.

  12. Pip’s Pals will care for your pet to the best of their ability, and will make every effort to ensure your pet is well cared for in your absence. Pip’s Pals has Public Liability Insurance with Cliverton Insurance which covers walking whilst in their care; however Pip’s Pals cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home. Nor can we be held liable for injury or death to another pet or human, caused directly or indirectly by your pet whilst in our care. It is recommended that owners have their own full insurance cover. Pip’s Pals reserve the right to refuse a booking for any uninsured dog.

  13. Pip’s Pals shall not be held responsible for any damage to client’s property, or that of others, caused by client’s pets during the period in which they are responsible for them.

  14. The Client is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their dog receives while under the care of Pip’s Pals; together with any associated costs e.g. call-out charges. The Client authorises the staff of Pip’s Pals to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as they deem necessary; where possible this will be carried out by the Client’s usual/preferred Vet, but this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency) and the Client accepts that the staff of Pip’s Pals may at their discretion use any registered Vet. The Client agrees to pay all such costs immediately upon pick-up of their dog, or by agreement with the proprietor.

  15. Pip’s Pals reserves the right to refuse admission if the Client fails to provide adequate proof of vaccinations (including Bordetella), or the vaccinations are found to be expired or otherwise incomplete.

  16. Bitches may not attend Pip’s Pals while in season or pregnant. Pip’s Pals reserves the right to refuse admission if these criteria are not met.

  17. Pip’s Pals reserves the right to insist that entire males dogs are walked individually and kept on lead at all times.

  18. Pip’s Pals cannot be held responsible if your dog is not neutered/spayed and your dog impregnates or is impregnated by other dogs whilst in the care of Pip’s Pals

  19. The Client accepts that even though their dog is vaccinated against Bordetella (Kennel Cough) there is a chance that their dog can still contract Kennel Cough. The Client agrees that they will not hold Pip’s Pals responsible if their dog contracts Kennel Cough while attending.

  20. The Client agrees to take any necessary measures or precautions to ensure that their dog is continuously free of contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The Client further agrees to notify Pip’s Pals immediately of any infectious and/or contagious disease or conditions their dog has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include, but are not limited to: Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough (Bordetella), Parvovirus, Corona virus, worms, Lyme disease, Fleas, Pregnancy, Infectious Skin Diseases and Intestinal Parasites. Pip’s Pals reserves the right to refuse admission until satisfied that the condition is resolved.

  21. The Client consents to their dog being photographed, videotaped, and/or used in any media or advertising by Pip’s Pals without prior approval. All such media remain the property of Pip’s Pals.

  22. The Client must provide all necessary items for your pet to be adequately cared for in the Clients absence.

  23. The Client agrees that Pip’s Pals is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.

  24. The Client agrees to provide keys/arrange access to the dog for the agreed appointment; failure to do so will result in a cancellation for that day’s service and will be paid in full by the client.

  25. Pip’s Pals will ensure house keys are securely stored and attached to key ring which will not reference the Clients home address. Paperwork relating to the Clients dog will be kept separate and securely away from keys. No personal details will be forwarded or passed on to any third party.

  26. The Client agrees that, by signing the key holder waiver form this will indemnify Pip’s Pals in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents, in present and future circumstances.

  27. The Client is not insured when travelling in Pip’s Pals vehicle and will therefore be traveling at their own risk if they wish to accompany their dog.

  28. No variation of these Terms and Conditions will have effect unless confirmed by Pip’s Pals in writing.
